My Best Friend

It's taken me about a month to get to where I can even post on this topic so, bear with me. About a month ago, I had to put my sweet dog, Lexi down. She had a tumor in her ear that we couldn't get rid of that kept getting infected. Because she was old and her heart was weak, she couldn't have surgery and, in the end, the only thing I could do for her was end her pain. It broke my heart and has been so much harder to get over than even I expected. We were together for a long time (9 years) and I still don't feel like myself without her.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of a great girl who loved babies, snuggling, long walks on the beach, swimming, sleeping in my bed and whose favorite color was red:

Trying to wake Gabe up.

Lexi and Fritzy.

Toilet water in the best!

Protecting Jaxon from the naughty puppy.

Lexi on Pride Rock.

Lexi with her daughter, Phoebe.

Pitiful bath time face.

Pretty girl before she went completely gray.

"Don't make me get off the bed."

Snuggling with my pregnant belly.

Keeping an eye on the kids at the park.

Snuggled in for the night.

Happy family.

  1. Oh Tie, I am so sorry. I wish you would have told me that you had to put her down. I know how hard that is and I am sorry. She was a sweetheart.

  2. I haven't been to your blog in quite awhile - and even though it's late - I just wanted to say I'm so sorry for this loss - I know it's a big one... so sad -
